Q: What is a prior event?
A: A prior event is an event or matter that occurred before the inception of your policy. It’s a pre-existing matter.
Q: What does the 90 days waiting period entail?
A: Legal matters occurring within the first 90 days of the policy inception date are not covered. During the aforementioned period, the policyholder will, however, receive internal legal assistance and advice, but will not be eligible for assistance or representation by our panel of outsourced practitioners.
Q: Should all contracts that I want to enter into first be perused by Legal Sense?
A: Yes, we encourage our clients to send all correspondence between third parties and themselves through to us before signing any contracts or agreements. This will be in the best interest for our clients and Legal Sense in order to protect our clients’ interests as best as possible and to prevent or minimise future contractual disputes.
Q: Does Legal Sense have attorneys across South Africa?
A: Yes we do, please see our page on our Panel of Attorney’s to get an idea of which firms we use and where they are based. If there is not an attorney on our panel in your area, we will find you one and instruct them accordingly.
Q: What is the procedure for submitting a claim?
A: Please send an email to newclaims@legalsense.co.za. Kindly insert your policy number in the subject line, write a short description of the matter or incident your require assistance on and we will revert back to you. The claims process is also explained in more detail on our download page.
